History of our tournament

Events – Sporting tournaments are often named after prominent figures, as is the case with the Dr. Nimmrichter Memorial Tournament.

This is associated with a prestigious sports event honoring the incomparable “patron” of 1. FC Leonhofen – Dr. Adolf Nimmrichter.

Dr. Adolf Nimmrichter, MD, was the district physician of Ruprechtshofen and a co-founder of FC Leonhofen. From 1958 to 1976, he held various positions, including the presidency and the role of section leader. His main concern was to challenge and promote youth development.

/ the history

From a small tournament to a extravaganza of the highest caliber.

In honor of Dr. Adolf Nimmrichter, the tournament was initiated, initially with neighboring clubs and teams from the Austrian Bundesliga, and over the years, more and more international representatives joined.

The tournament is both sporting and organizationally one of the most significant in Austria, as evidenced by the fact that professional clubs from both domestic and international realms have been guests at our event repeatedly.
